Approach

I truly believe that Architecture acts as a catalyst mechanism that bridges the connection between the human body, society, and the world. Research is invaluable to my process as I undertake the responsibility of articulating narratives through understanding the past to create a vibrant, socially and environmentally responsible future.

Over the course of my career, I have specialised in complex and design-led Architecture. My portfolio showcases various developments across High-End & Luxury Residential, Retail, and Hospitality, such as Hotel Dubai, Jil Sander, Ivy Asia, Maison Margiela, Marni, Claridge's Knightbridge and  Mandarin Oriental Saigon. amongst several other high-profile developments. I have managed the Full lifecycle of projects both in the UK and internationally. My ability to draw from intricate developments during my Architectural career equips me with the awareness to enhance and finesse my client's concept idea. Ensuring the design team is knowledgeable of deadlines, workflows, and standards is my focus. I enjoy dynamic environments where projects are fast-paced. I have successfully delivered projects in challenging environments with demanding time constraints.

Currently, my mission within Design Management is to strengthen and capitalise on our client's concept. Ensuring timely deliverables, company standards are upheld, and demands are adhered to is vital to completing projects successfully, resulting in a brilliant experience for our clients and us. As the focal point for our clients, stakeholders, designers, statutory bodies, contractors, and others, it is important to be available and efficient constantly in case of RFI's. My site experience aids construction progress in real-time, as I have a strong understanding of detailed construction designs and buildability.

Project Management is important to me as a Design Manager. My pursuit of APM Chartership is underway, as I can leverage this in teams alongside my project management knowledge and experience. Communication, Stakeholder Engagement, Budget Control, Quality Assurance, Procurements, and building Project Timelines whilst considering milestones are imperative to my growth as a Professional. I want to bring these attributes to every project I collaborate on. I aim to be as efficient and reliable to my team on future projects, making the process smoother and ensuring smooth delivery.

Notions of spatial awareness, lighting, authenticity, and meaning all enrich the process of creating positive structure forms. Every project is a new experience, entailing challenges requiring dedication and attention to detail.

Project Inception
RIBA STAGE 0 - 2

I have delivered many types of high-profile Projects during my career within the UK and Internationally.  I enjoy new challenges and taking on the responsibility of leading design teams. During the Conception phase, my role is to create strong relations with the project clients and sponsors. My thorough approach enables me to conduct design team meetings whilst balancing statutory approvals and contractor engagement. Ensuring the client is satisfied at this stage is essential to the project's foundation. My ability to analyse stakeholders, clients, and contractors allows me to create strong lines of communication. My background in Architecture enhances my Design Management skills and knowledge of the risks to be aware of during the initial phases

Space and Technical Design
RIBA STAGE 3 - 4

Strong designs require great attention to detail. Attention to detail alleviates problems prior to Site Works, which in all will aid towards a successful forecasted budget meeting. At this stage, my role and responsibilities are to dictate the design process prior to tendering and creating a delivery package to supply to our contractors. I have been the main focal point on many projects, which consist of dealing with RFI's, queries, and risks in a quick and thorough manner. My experience on live construction sites has given me an understanding of buildability, contractors' mindset, and the ability to mitigate possible risks early on.

Construction & Handover
RIBA STAGE 5 - 7

Construction can commence once a tender has been agreed upon by the client and the Contractor. Prior to Siteworks, a Building Regulator will approve the drawings, marking a timestamp at which the building can begin. Regular meetings on-site are needed to ensure the quality of the build and that Health and Safety policies are being met and followed.

At this stage, I am flexible as my duties consist of office work and being on-site. This is an intense period, but my experience of working with demanding clients and different contractors has given me a strong approach towards the handover stage. Being present, aware and steadfast are imperative at this stage.
